Are you interested in fresh food? Perhaps you're concerned about media reports of how food is grown. Perhaps you've frequented farmers markets for fresh produce but yearn for a more convenient way. Perhaps you still wonder really how it was grown. There are a number of options for buying direct and places like SlowMoneyFarm will grow on a custom basis or as a CSA - community supported agriculture. For those who want another option we have it. Custom raised beds offers a chance to have a raised bed delivered, set up and planted.

This includes a frame, soil and seeds. You decide what you want to grow and we'll plant it in your sunny space just steps from your home. With raised beds weeding is minimal. You will need to water your raised bed and check for pests, treating if needed. You know your garden is organic or minimal pesticides because you are in control of it! You harvest the crop as it matures. It's planted according to your likes, so if you can't eat tomatoes you don't get them. If you love salsa then peppers and tomatoes may take a bigger importance.

You can choose from heirloom varieties or hybrid (a cross between two 'breeds' - for example two types of tomatoes). We use organic, untreated seed wherever possible, just like we do in our own gardens.

Here at CustomRaisedBeds.com we offer food choice and a way to grow your food your way, with minimal time involved. The raised bed remains year after year - so next year you just need to replant. Poor soil in your area doesn't matter - we bring a mix of peat moss and compost that is rich enough for a productive garden.

Your custom raised bed is four feet by ten feet - 40 square feet, allowing ease of reaching in to the center of the bed to tend crops. Another option is 4x12. Planted with square foot garden methods it can produce a great deal of food in a small space. An optional plastic "greenhouse cover" is available for those wishing to extend the season.

Raised beds are a proven way of producing food no matter your soil. A sunny spot and a little TLC and you, too, can grow your own vegetables.
